Inspiring Program for 100-million Americans Age 50+ to Air on Pop
San Antonio, Texas, January 22, 2013
One hundred million Americans are age 50+. Seventy six million of them are baby boomers born
between 1946 and 1964 who control 75% of the nation’s wealth.
This group is affluent and hip and thinks it’s going to live forever. It’s a group that now has a TV
news magazine devoted specifically to its generation. The program is called 50PlusPrime, and
you can watch it across the country on Pop TV every Saturday morning.
50PlusPrime is an upbeat, feel-good program telling the stories of baby boomers making a
difference in their communities, and reporting on their lifestyle interests.
Hosted by award-winning TV news reporter Tony Fama, 50PlusPrime travels the nation offering
uplifting, often nostalgic reports on boomer culture and history and about the people who inspired
the generation believing that “together we can make the world a better place.”
"It's a dream come true,” said Fama. “Every reporter is a storyteller who wants the subject of their
story to be heard. I am grateful for this opportunity, and approach it with a commitment to keep
working as hard as necessary to craft the very best stories I can about the inspiring Americans
who entrust an intimate piece of their lives to me. Thank you, Pop TV."
50PlusPrime episodes include multi-segment newsmaker profiles, along with celebrity visits with
generational influencers like Carl Reiner (The Dick Van Dyke Show) and Loretta Swit
(M*A*S*H). Reiner promo: https://youtu.be/7fnca1GR37g?t=06s; Hero promo:
