The Council will honor local female leaders at the upcoming Women Who Make a Difference fundraising luncheon in Gainesville. The Women Who Make a Difference award recognizes local women for their professional accomplishments, service to others and community impact.
This year six female leaders will be honored. The women nominated exemplify the Girl Scouts’ core values of honesty, fairness, caring, responsibility, service to others and community, inclusivity, respect and sisterhood. The 2018 honorees are:
•Laura Guyer, PhD, Med, RDN, University of Florida Bob Graham Center for Public Service
•Jacalyn Levine, Florida Humanities Council
•Rev. Dr. Geraldine W. McClellan, Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church
•Vicki Santello, The SantelloDavis Group of Merrill Lynch
•Dr. Ann Weber, North Florida Regional Medical Center
•Rhonda Wilson, Star Center Children’s Theatre
The awards will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 11 a.m., at the Hilton UF Conference Center located at 1714 SW 34th Street in Gainesville. The luncheon will be presented by Publix Charities and sponsored by Merrill Lynch, Comprehensive Women’s Health, Ms. C. Ann Scott and Dr. Pauline Lawrence.
